RELEASE Little Did I Know.com, an on-line baby gift retail cooperative founded by, Darcy Volden Miller, of Austin in 1999 is the first association of its kind formally organizing mother business owners to pool resources for national marketing campaigns that would not be possible within the budgets of these small businesses. In addition, these women use Little Did I Know.com to network, swap services and share expertise that would otherwise cost them significant amounts of money if provided by paid consultants. Miller says, "LDIK has been one of the biggest factors in many these small businesses' success. It is difficult being one person trying to introduce a new product into the market, and a number of the moms in the group have experience in this area. This group works cooperatively to teach each other how to work with retailers, generate publicity for their products and most importantly, remind them that persistence will pay off in the end." Miller says further, "These mothers don't have to feel alone in this endeavor. Each mom in this group benefits when another mom succeeds." And now this talented and energetic group of women has pooled their resources to bring their wares from the Internet to the real world. Opening Saturday August the 4th, in Arvada, CO, a suburb of Denver, will be the Baby Cakes, Inc./Little Did I Know.com retail storefront, the first store of its kind. The new location will be at 6623 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, CO, 80003. The phone number is (303) 657-0799. The new storefront will be home to some of the several hundred products that are invented, handmade or distributed by this group of mom 'net-preneurs'. Arvada resident and Little Did I Know.com member, Charlotte Fowkes of Baby Cakes, Inc. www.babycakesinc.com, will oversee this exciting new endeavor. The Little Did I Know.com members are committed to operating their own businesses from home so that they may raise and nurture their children. It is an opportunity such as this that helps promote their businesses in the real world and still allows them to stay at home with their children.
