Cradle the Thought Donates
to Liv in the Game
Austin, TX April 17, 2001 Austin
triathlete and author, Tracy D. Nelson, will
donate a portion of upcoming sales of her book, Cradle
the Thought, to Liv in the Game. Nelson will
be participating in the TREK MultiSportswomen
Duathlon, benefiting Liv in the Game, on April 22,
2001. For every sale of Cradle the Thought
that references the duathlon, Nelson will
contribute $1 to Liv in the Game.

The TREK MultiSportswomen Duathlon, benefiting
Liv in the Game, is the first ever all womens
duathlon event to be held in Austin. This
duathlon presents real women of all ages and
abilities with an opportunity to participate in a
biking and running event in a non-intimidating,
nurturing, and empowering environment. This 2-mile
run, 10-mile bike, 2-mile run event is expected
to draw the attention of 300-700 female
participants, plus spectators and more than 100
volunteers.
Liv in the Game is a 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization in Austin that educates
girls on the life lessons and benefits that
physical activity and sports offer. Using a two-pronged
approach, Liv in the Game offers a mentoring
program which pairs 5th grade girls
with adult female mentors on a one-to-one basis,
and it also offers two community events each year
that reach over two hundred girls in Austin who
are outside the scope of the mentoring program.
