Little Did I Know.com and Austin-Area
Merchants Featured on Rosie O'Donnell Show April
12, 2001
Austin, TX - April 9, 2001 - Little Did I Know.com,
an Austin-based coalition of more than eighty
mother business owners, will be featured on the
Rosie O'Donnell Talk Show on April 12, 2001.
Little Did I Know.com, an online retail
cooperative founded by Darcy Volden Miller of
Austin in 1999, is the first association of its
kind. It formally organizes mother business
owners to pool resources for national marketing
campaigns. With over eighty members, LDIK's
mission is well under way: to "Change the
world - one mom at a time."
LDIK's first coordinated effort started when five
boxes filled with hundreds of products from these
mother-owned and operated businesses were shipped
to Rosie O'Donnell as a publicity-generating
effort. (The moms asked Rosie to donate the
products to her favorite women's and children's
charities.) Jacqueline Houck, a member of LDIK,
has been invited to open the Rosie O'Donnell show
on Thursday, April 12, 2001 in New York City.
Jacqueline plans to announce the grand opening of
the Little Did I Know.com online baby gift store
during her interview on the Rosie O'Donnell Show.
This unique retail store features only products
created, manufactured, or distributed by members
of the cooperative.
LDIK products were featured on the Oprah Show
Women Who Love Their Jobs, March 2000. LDIK has
also been highlighted in November 2000 BabyTalk
Magazine and Women Connect.com, and will appear
in several new books including Mompreneurs
Online, HerVenture.com, DotCom Moms, Generation
Mom and The Women's Home-Based Business Book of
Answers, all due out Spring 2001.
Several of the Mother-Owned and Operated
businesses involved with LDIK are located in the
Austin area:
